Glass Fibre Sheet
(Epoxy Sheet, Tube )

Glass epoxy sheets (commonly known by grades like FR4, G10, and G11) are high-pressure industrial laminates. They are created by reinforcing a woven fiberglass cloth with an epoxy resin binder, resulting in a material that is incredibly strong and an excellent electrical insulator.

Features:

1. Superior Electrical Insulation: High dielectric strength makes it ideal for preventing electrical leakage and withstands high-voltage environments.
2. High Mechanical Strength: Offers exceptional tensile, flexural, and impact strength. It is much stiffer and stronger than standard plastics like HDPE.
3. Flame Retardancy (FR4 Grade): The "FR" stands for Flame Retardant. FR4 is specifically engineered to be self-extinguishing (UL94 V-0 rating).
4. Low Moisture Absorption: It does not soak up water or humidity, ensuring the sheet maintains its electrical and dimensional properties in damp conditions.
5. Thermal Stability: Maintains its structural integrity at high temperatures.
   -FR4/G10: Typically stable up to 130°C - 140°C.
   -G11: A high-temp version stable up to 155°C - 180°C.
6. Chemical Resistance: Highly resistant to acids, solvents, and cleaning agents.
7.  Dimensional Stability: It does not shrink or warp easily, making it perfect for precision-machined parts.

Applications:

Glass epoxy is the "gold standard" for the electronics and heavy power industries.

1. Electronics & Electrical
-Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs): FR4 is the most common substrate for almost all modern electronics (phones, computers, etc.).
-Switchgear & Control Panels: Used for insulating barriers, busbar supports, and mounting plates.
-Transformers & Motors: Used as slot liners, spacers, and end-plates where high-voltage insulation is critical.
-Insulating Washers & Bushings: Machined into small parts to isolate bolts or shafts from conducting electricity.

2. Industrial & Mechanical
-Jigs and Fixtures: Because it is so stiff and stable, it’s used to create precision assembly tools and testing frames.
-Cryogenic Components: Unlike many materials that become brittle, certain glass epoxies (like G10) remain strong in extreme cold (liquid nitrogen environments).
-Aerospace & Marine: Used for structural shims, antenna bases, and non-conductive mounts where weight and strength are a priority.
