With molecular weights between 2 to 9 million, UHMWPE
sheets feature extremely long polymer chains, resulting in
superior intermolecular strength and the highest impact
resistance of any thermoplastic. These UHMWPE sheets also offer exceptional wear and abrasion resistance—up to 15 times greater than carbon steel—making them ideal for demanding industrial applications.

UHMWPE sheets are self-lubricating with a very low coefficient of friction, significantly lower than Polyamide or Acetal and comparable to PTFE, while delivering better abrasion resistance than PTFE.
